SOLAS News is a biannual newsletter reporting the scientific highlights and progress of SOLAS. It is also intended as a space where the SOLAS community can discuss hot topics of the day and is mailed free of charge to anyone who requests it.

ISSUE TEN - January 2010
2010 kicks off with our 10th issue of the SOLAS Newsletter, which reports on two major international SOLAS events: the SOLAS Summer School (August 2009) and the SOLAS Open Science Conference (November 2009). The scientific articles are written by both summer school alumni and OSC participants. The issue also presents the winners of the Summer School and OSC poster/presentation competitions and includes reports and photos from both events and summaries of the OSC Discussion Sessions. You'll also find updates on the COST Action 735 and Special Reports on recent conferences and meetings, as well as the usual partner project updates and national reports. |
ISSUE NINE - July 2009
Issue 9 of the SOLAS Newsletter focuses on SOLAS collaborations and overlaps with partner projects, proudly including a section on Palaeo-SOLAS. Whilst reporting on recent developments in the research taking place in SOLAS nations, we are also providing you with a taster of future SOLAS directives including developments in research areas, associations with COST Action 735 and SOLAS Data Integration. In addition, we introduce our newest members of the Scientific Steering Committee, Cecile Guieu, Patricia Quinn, Rafel Simo and Minhan Dai and are sure that you will enjoy reading about their work. We found developing this newsletter with a different perspective a pleasure and look forward to hearing your comments and ideas for future issues. |
ISSUE EIGHT - December 2008
Issue 8 of the SOLAS Newsletter continues the theme followed by Issue 7 by introducing the community to a range of international scientists, and their timely research, from across the globe. We introduce the people involved within the project acting as National Representatives; our Project Integrator; and the Executive Officer and Project Officer at the International Project Office (IPO). Announcements of the Open Science Conference taking place in Barcelona, from 16th - 19th November 2009, and the opening of application to the SOLAS Summer School in Corsica, from 3rd - 15th August 2009, are also featured.
