Dear SOLAS Community,
IPCC-Working group 1 (WG1) is now close to finalising its first order draft for the AR5 WG1 report. Many of you want to know better where issues on trace gases, aerosol and atmospheric chemistry are covered in this report and who to contact for more information.
For your information and convenience we have compiled a spreadsheet with lead authors, chapter contents, and a broad overview of issues covered in these chapters. As you may notice atmospheric chemistry and aerosol issues are found in a number of chapters. For this reason, do not hesitate to contact multiple chapter lead authors, if you think you have valuable information that may fit at several places.
Please note that we are specifically searching for peer-reviewed publications (or submitted publications that have to be submitted by July 2012 and accepted by 15 March 2013). Needless to say that this is an assessment- not a review-, meaning that we can not be exhaustive in citing all publications on a certain subject. Nevertheless it is important that we get access to important publications- and the earlier we get them the better it is.
Lastly: sign up as a reviewer for the various chapters: this is the best way to ensure that the best and most up-to-date information will be used in the next IPCC report.
Apologies for multiple posting, and we hope you find this helpful.
With kind regards on behalf of the IPCC WG1 'atmospheric chemistry' authors,
Frank Dentener
