The 1st SOLAS Summer School was held in 2003, at the Institut d'Etudes Scientifiques de Cargèse on the West coast of the French island of Corsica. The school welcomed 72 PhD students and early career scientists from 17 countries from a wide range of scientific backgrounds, covering all of the SOLAS topics.
Students had the unique opportunity to learn from 21 international and leading scientists in the fields of SOLAS Sciences. The Summer School was coordinated by Corinne le Quéré and the SOLAS International Project Office.
