Summer School Archive

The SOLAS Summer School series is tailored to multi- and interdisciplinary students and early career marine and atmospheric scientists. SOLAS has organised 7 international summer schools: Corsica, France, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2018, and in Xiamen, China, 2013, involving 500 international students and producing a textbook (Le Quéré & Saltzman 2009).

The 7th SOLAS Summer School took place from 23rd July - 4th August 2018, in Cargèse, Corsica, France

Many thanks to the 64 excellent students, 17 lecturers/practical demonstrators, the organising committee, and especially to Christa Marandino, who helped to make the 7th International SOLAS Summer School a great success.

Summer School 2013


From 23rd August to 2nd September 2013, for the first time the 6th SOLAS Summer School took place in Xiamen, China and was a great success.

The school was co-chaired by Dr. Véronique Garçon of CNES/LEGOS, France, and Dr. Minhan Dai of Xiamen University, China. In total, 69 students from 24 different countries attended the summer school along with 15 world-leading scientists.
